A look behind the scenes of the Prinzeßhof District Museum is provided by the new special exhibition “Hidden Treasures – A Journey into the Depot”. Whether sausage horn, sky letter or inflation broomstick – the collection of the district museum includes many curious things.
Collected is the history of art, culture and everyday life of the district of Steinburg, its towns and villages. Over the decades, approximately 25,000 objects have been collected.
The exhibition with special finds from the depot is a journey through time into the everyday life of past living worlds. Marvel at forgotten household appliances like the French fry cutter and 2000-year-old children’s toys.
Each thing tells its own story, sometimes funny, sometimes thought-provoking. And there’s no shortage of guessing fun either: In our “What’s that thing quiz”, you can let your imagination run wild while guessing objects and certainly learn a thing or two.
