This year the Sturgeon city celebrates again the traditional Itzehoer week, which is popular with young and old, also the wine festival takes place again. Here is a summary of the major events and their main highlights. Thursday, 01.06. Steinburg Evening Market – from 4.30 p.m., at the foot of St. Laurentii, city center
The Steinburg Evening Market kicks off this year’s Itzehoer Woche. With organic meat and fresh fish, fair products from around the world, fresh pasta, spirits and delicatessen, it presents our region from the most delicious side. Under the motto “Moin Morgenland” Landgasthof Zum Dückerstieg, himmel+erde as well as Brüdigams Wildwechsel cook oriental inspired in the common cooking tent. The matching wines will be tasted by Weinhorizonte and Behrens & Haltermann as well as the service club Inner Wheel. On stage, there will be belly dancing at its best and oriental drummers, among other things.
Saturday, 03.06. Wine festival – 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., downtown
For the first time after the pandemic, the traditional festival around the juice of the vine is back. Thousands of people flock to Itzehoe on this day to enjoy the wine offerings and various delicacies in the city center with live music on several stages. The complete program is available here.
Wednesday, 07.06. Large flea market – from 08.00, city center
On a route of around five kilometers through downtown Itzeho, flea market fans can stroll extensively and search for that special deal at well over 500 stalls. This flea market doesn’t need any extras – it’s the highlight of the West Coast either way – with lots of private and rummage stands. An absolute must for any bargain hunter. Stand allocation: We in the city management assign the flea market places in the tourist information, Breite Straße 4. The costs are 25,00 Euro per 3 meter stand place for private stand operators. So, still secure remaining places!
Saturday, 10.06, Itzehoe blooms & hums – 09.00 – 12.00, Berliner Platz
Joint plant market of the beekeepers association Itzehoe and surroundings and the nursery Eggert. Buy perennials and woody plants that serve bees, bumblebees and other endangered beneficial insects as nectar and pollen donors. The Bee Mobile provides information on all aspects of beekeeping. Since the event is dedicated to environmental protection and sustainability, the organizers will be happy if you bring your own transport containers (bags, boxes, etc.) for the plants.
Sunday, 11.06. Children’s Day – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Malzmüller Meadows
The largest children’s day in the region attracts young and old to the district capital every year to experience games, fun and excitement at many stations. In addition, there will be a colorful and varied program. Look forward to many exciting surprises!
