The almost 1,000 km long long-distance cycle route follows in the footsteps of the monks who brought Christianity to the north in the Middle Ages. Thus, the Mönchsweg leads past centuries-old churches built of fieldstone and brick, whose towers still characterize the northern German landscape. On the signposted route from Bremen via Wischhafen and Glückstadt on the Elbe, Puttgarden on Fehmarn to Denmark you will experience culture, landscape and tranquility.
