Haus der Heimat

In one of the most beautiful buildings in Itzehoe, the Kreisgemeinschaft Preußisch-Holland has established the Haus der Heimat. Archival documents and exhibits from East Prussia, especially from the Prussian-Holland district, are kept and collected here in order to provide a place of remembrance for the many expellees who came to Itzehoe after the Second World War.
In the mid-1980s, the former aristocratic palace, which is a listed building, was completely renovated and has since been considered an architectural gem in Itzeho’s townscape.
