The Itzehoe city management team recently had doubts as to whether the goal of opening a pop-up store before the funding period of the Schleswig-Holstein city center program ends on 31.12.2024 could still be achieved.
Three new stores will open their doors to the Itzehoe public with a bang on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Customers can expect great opening offers, exciting promotions and three exceptionally furnished stores that invite them to linger and browse.
The city of Itzehoe is supporting the pop-up stores with a rent subsidy until 31.12.2024 as part of the state of Schleswig-Holstein’s city center program. The aim is to give tradespeople and associations a good start in new premises or generally into self-employment so that they can stand on their own two feet economically after a five-month test phase and, in the best-case scenario, continue the lease from 2025 using their own funds.
“With this active prevention of vacancies, we are supporting the revitalization of the city centre and giving good ideas an extra boost to develop. It is important to breathe new life into the heart of Itzehoe – against the nationwide trend. It’s not about filling vacancies at any price, but about finding the right mix of sectors that invites people to stroll in and around the pedestrian zone again,” says area manager Mirko Heim.
Sandy Schippmann and Hanna Seupel from the city management team have come up with a great marketing concept for the POP-UP stores to give the stores a brilliant start:
From the guerrilla marketing campaign with spray chalk, to the window displays and decorations for the opening day, to give-aways and other marketing support, we ensure that everything comes together and that the synergy effect of a simultaneous opening can take effect.
But now to the most important question: Who will be enriching our city center from this summer?
At Bekstraße 14, we meet an “old acquaintance”; Tina Schröder, owner of the established second-hand store “LiBelle” in the basement of the Adler, is expanding and trying her hand in the city center. Her customers value her not only for her high-quality second-hand range of well-known brands, but also for her honest advice and passion for quality and small, loving details. In future, it will also have a stylish corner for men’s second-hand goods.
In Carolin Kröhnke’s former wedding ring studio at Feldschmiede 21, things are still chic and classy: Katharina Baldwin presents elegant women’s fashion in her small boutique “AVA Fashion – stay classy”. In a stylish ambience, fashion-conscious customers can find exceptional individual items at very affordable prices.
Clubs are also given the opportunity to present themselves to a wider audience in the city center: The Itzehoe Eagles basketball team has found a new home in the former Itzehoe Teekontor premises at Feldschmiede 58 and is bubbling over with great ideas to fill the store: Office, fan merchandise, ticket sales, team meetings, coach consultation hours, indoor and outdoor hoops… anything is possible!
