On May 8, the city of Itzehoe will provide information on the current inner city redevelopment projects at the Steinburg evening market.
“Vibrant places, strong communities” – this is the motto of this year’s nationwide Urban Development Day. Cities and municipalities are providing information about their projects, plans and successes.
Itzehoe will be providing information this year on Thursday, May 8, 2025 for Urban Development Day. At the Steinburger Abendmarkt, employees of the city of Itzehoe will provide information about projects from the inner city redevelopment area. Members of the planning offices for the Neue Störschleife will also be on hand to provide an insight into the current status of their work. In addition to the Neue Störschleife, the focus will also be on the construction of the new central bus station. The current planning status of both projects will be on display to show what these locations could look like in the future.
In the Östlich Hindenburgstraße redevelopment area, where a large number of measures have been implemented in the past and which will soon be completed, plans with before and after photos will also be set up to show the changes that have taken place there as a result of the urban development funding.
The nationwide day of action is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building, the federal states, the Association of German Cities and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities to strengthen the participation of citizens in urban development projects.
