To mark the 100th birthday of Gisela Bührmann (1925-2011), the Kreismuseum Prinzeßhof is dedicating a comprehensive exhibition to the Hamburg artist. On display are paintings, drawings and prints from more than six decades of her artistic career. Many of the works on display come from her extensive estate, which is now looked after in Itzehoe, and have rarely been exhibited in public before. The exhibition thus not only honors the impressive life’s work of an extraordinary artist, but also makes a rediscovery possible. The introductory lecture at the exhibition opening on Sunday, June 29, 2025, will be given by the renowned art historian Prof. Heinz Spielmann.
