Landscape and still life by Björn Wirtz
Björn Wirtz (born 1979) studied digital illustration at the FH Krefeld and subsequently worked as an artist and art director. During this time he strengthened his skills in terms of color, mood and composition, mainly in digital painting. His interest in traditional techniques finally grew at the end of 2013.
In 2015, he studied in Switzerland with Patrick Devonas, a master of classical oil painting. In the same year, he received his first international recognition. Shortly afterwards, he took part in his first international exhibition at the California Plein Air Painters International Salon (USA), where he received an Award of Merit. This award was followed by many more in the years to come, including at the renowned Art Renewal Center Salon.
Since 2017, he has been working primarily as a freelance artist with extensive inspiring travels to a variety of motifs – from palaces in Russia to coasts in Portugal, alleyways in Morocco, remote valleys in the Himalayas and the Tuscan plains.
